Our annual Zoo trip.

Last week we made our annual trip to the Zoo. It was even better than last year. I think it's worth every penny.
The polar bears were so awesome!
Second time for Whit at the Zoo...first time was in my tummy :)

 All the Grandkids.

This picture makes me giggle. There was a comment about 'fuzzy nuts' made, something about a whole new meaning LOL. I love my sense of humor.

It was a great trip!

Parshpellows

We tried a new way of making hay today! Ali thinks they look just like parshpellows. LOL. This hay field had so many weeds and wild oats in it we just didn't think it would dry down enough to bale. SO instead we bale it at about 50% moisture instead of 15% (which is considered dry for hay). Come winter we will open up the bags and take as we need to feed the cows. They will basically be silage bales. Makes great feed.

Have a great night!

Waist High by July 1st

This year we actually get to say that our corn is waist high by July 1st!! Knee high is usually what we hope for...hopefully it continues to exceed it's expectations right through till harvest ;) That's not too much to ask for is it????

Happy Canada Day!!

5 years & 5 months

Last week one day our oldest, our son Tanner turned five whole years old! And on the same day our youngest daughter turned five months old!! So crazy how the time flies. Didn't I just give birth our first child???!!! Anyways, Grandpa took the kids and I on a wagon ride that day, the kids were excited, finally a wagon ride. They were so excited to help Grandpa drive the horses. Nice little treat.

Whitley was on the wagon too, sleeping in her seat.
Tanner excited about his new cowboy boots...he has been wearing them everywhere since, with shorts and all ;)
Five months old!!!!!! Such a happy little girl. She's over 20 pounds, healthy and happy! Smiley too. She pretty sleeps all night every night. 9 pm - 6:30/7 am. The odd night she might wake up to eat once and goes right back to sleep. She spoils us rotten.
She loves her cowie cow. (her brother named the cow lol)

He requested a combine cake. With a bucket tractor and grain cart......this is what Mommy came up with. And just as we're ready to light the candles and sing Happy Birthday, someone pointed out that I had six candles on the cake! He was turning five!! NOT six. Sheesh. I have as lot of mommy brain lately it's scary.
He was very excited about his gifts. More to add to his farming collection and some nice games.

Note: There are now five candles on the cake! LOL.
Spent most of the birthday party on the deck, the mosquitoes got bad around 9-10 pm.

Happy Tuesday!

The Cabin - - At Last!

After a summer of being wet, the bugs, thresherman's, farming and just generally being busy we finally made it to the cabin for a wiener roast! And would you know it, the skeeters are out in full force again! Blah. As much as I dislike them, I will not wish for a frost just yet to get rid of them. We need the frost to hold off awhile yet.

 The temperamental two year olds....LOL.
 Rootbeer and orange floats Mmmmmmmm.

The quad is forever popular! It never gets old. Our relaxing evening came to an abrupt halt when our daughter filled her pants. And I had no wipes or extra panties/pants. Good thing we are a minute from home!

August Long Weekend

I'm back! I'm back!! After about a month of no internet, it's finally fixed. I tried to do a couple phone posts in that time but our service just sucks big time. This past weekend we went to Treherne campground with friends. It was a great weekend filled lots of food, laughs, bonfires, swimming and much more. We were home by about lunch time on Monday and the work was sitting here waiting for us! We went right to raking and baling hay. Finishing the day with some crop scouting.
Ali was terrified of the water to start with and by the time it was time to go she was mad she had to get out.

 They have a beautiful playground.

Margarita-ville time! And seeing as the majority of us were either pregnant or small children, the were alcohol free.

 Our campsite.
Our winter wheat. It will be swathed in a couple days time, it's not far from combining!! I'm so excited! I love love love harvest time.
And checking out the canola............happy to see the flowers still hanging on., the longer the better!!

Glad to be back!
