Wanted by Hunter Hayes

I liked this song when I first heard it on the radio. Actually I thought it was Rascal Flatts! He sounds just like the lead singer of Rascal Flatts. Then two weekends ago my brother-in-law and sister-in-law danced to it together at their wedding social and now I LOVE it. It`s such a precious song. Although I must say that the video kind of ruined it-dissapointed me. First off, he looks VERY young, secondly the chicky poo riding on the bike with him looks eons too old for him lol. I guess I just expected an older `experienced` guy to be the singer...LOL. If that makes any sense. I find it ironic when you see very young singers singing about things that you would think that only people who have experienced a true long time relationships would know about! Does that make senseÉÉ (How do I make my question mark work again!!!!!gr I have no idea how I accidentally changed it) Anyways, this song melts my heart. I am in need of some mushy songs for my heart tonight because it is hurting for people I do not even know. My mother-in-law told me a story that is so heart wrenching that I will not even repeat it. I wish they would not even of put it on the news. All I will say is that these parent(s) lost their two year old child.

Anyways, have a wonderful night all.

And the house continues to go up.

Yesterday and today we got A LOT accomplished on the house. My uncle, cousin and the other fellow that works with them found some time to come and help us work on the house. Thursday they finished putting the weeping tile all around the basement, waterproof barrier on basement walls, crushed rock and styrofoam down, filled the dirt back in along the outside walls, put the I-beam in place and started on the floor for the main floor. Today they pretty much worked on the floor all day. Then we also had a guy here to drill the piers for our veranda and entrance. We did not get the floor quite done, almost but not quite. Once that is done we start stacking blocks for the main floor walls!

 Putting the I-beam in place.

Almost there! It goes across the whole length of the house for the floor to sit on.

The black stuff is the waterproof barrier on the basement and as you can see the dirt is filled in.
It snowed for half of the day today! It looks like Christmas. Here is my handsome hubby putting up floor joists. I was sure that someone would slip up there and fall down. The snow made it slippery.
I told the hubby that he has to leave this big pile of dirt where it is so I have a good place to get pictures from a good view. Slowly but surely it's coming together.
Drilling the piers for our veranda. I do not have any pictures of the floor being covered with plywood, I will get one tomorrow.

Tanner has been sooooooo in love with his sister lately! Like to the point of smothering. He just will not leave her alone. It's cute actually, if she makes any sort of a peep he is instantly by her side asking her what is wrong. LOVES to hold her and he is actually doing really good holding her. She loves him too, constantly smiling and laughing at him.

Tonight I made a Tatertot Casserole and it was soooooooo yummy. This recipe will be a favorite in my kitchen for awhile! And so easy to make! Here is the link: Tatertot Casserole

That's all folks!

Happy Halloween!

Ali is a cat and Tanner is a frog!

Landen is a clown! We happened to stop at Grandma and Grandpa's at the same time.
Cousins, they are 1.5 years apart.
 Caleb makes the CUTEST Superman!
He even had a cape!!!!!!

We only did four stops this year. Getting in and out of the vehicle with both kids is not that much fun plus Tanner still is not old enough to think that being in a costume is fun so he wanted it off after stop #1. haha. After four stops they had over half a pillowcase full of candy!

I know it's November already and my post is late but that's ok.
Have a wonderful day!

Typical Monday :S

1. My kids drove me crazy all day. Tanner did everything possible to push my buttons and Ali just fussed and hardly slept. (If she did Tanner woke her up :s) Tanner did not nap at all.

2. I got absolutely nothing accomplished today.

3. I was craving my favorite bran muffin recipe, so made them this evening and they suck big time. That ticked me off. Grrr.

4. The cats outside keep ripping my garbage up. I could of prevented that but it still ticks me off.

5. I was clipping Ali's nails because she was scratching herself a lot and then I won the Mommy of the Year award and cut her with the clippers. Bah! I felt terrible.

6. Actually #2 is not true. I made pizza for supper tonight and it tasted great, I went to town to accomplish some banking and buy water. Also did a couple loads of laundry. There that made me feel a bit better.

Those are just a few reasons why my Monday sucked! I do have bad days so thanks for letting me 'vent' a little of my frustrations. BUT tomorrow is a new day right???

Basement walls done!

Thursday and Friday with an excellent crew got our basement walls finished!! Woot Woot! Feels great to have that done.

Pumper truck pumping cement into the walls.
 My father-in-law.

 Looking from the west.
 Looking from the north.
One of the window frames. You can see the cement.
Looking inside the basement. Steven, Andrew and Roy are in there...just making sure nothing is going to blow apart! All the yellow and slivers bars are bracing to help make sure it stays together while we are pouring.
Say "Cheese". ha ha. He was not impressed with me.
Uncle Chuck

So today our little girl turns four months old! Wow. I don't even need to tell you how fast the time has gone! I have an idea for a picture that I will do once she wakes up and post later. A few 'firsts' for her today. She slept in her crib in her own room all by herself last night! (tear for Mommy) It feels so empty in our room without her there. But it was time because I always wake her up when I come to bed late and she has been kind of a light sleeper so it will be better for her this way. Also we are leaving her with a babysitter for the first time tonight! It`s my Brother-in-law and sister-in-law`s wedding social tonight. I am looking forward to going out and kicking up my heels.

Have a wonderful day!

What would we do without Family, Friends and Neighbors?

It has become so evident to me in the last three weeks that we take our rural way of living too much for granted. How many people in this world can rely on family, friends and neighbors to help build a house? Not only that, where can you find people who think this is a great way to pass the winter by? I am not even kidding! I know it's a lot of work but I think everyone considers this a wonderful social outing!  I remember when one of Corey's cousins bought an old house nearby a couple winters ago and all winter long that is where we spent the majority of our evenings and weekends helping her to completely gut and reno it.

*Just a note: We are not relying on these people to build us a whole house. LOL. We do have contractors coming to help put the shell of the house up and close it in. They will pick up wherever we have got to when they have time to come. But that's all they are doing is closing the house in for us and then we are doing the rest ourselves.

Take for example today. Corey went to work like normal. (Which is just down the road) And then all of a sudden at about 11am he is back home. Spur of the moment he has decided we have to finish the basement walls asap because the place we have rented the bracing from wanted it back today...and if we pour our walls tomorrow he won't get it back till Saturday. We were really hoping to pour it today but no go. So by the time 1pm rolled around we had a full crew ready to help us! My hubby, father-in-law, an uncle, three cousins and a neighbor! And it is SO appreciated.

This house is going to mean so much to us when it is all said and done. We will never forget the hands that had a part in making our dream come true :)

I would not trade rural life for the world. So what if everyone knows what your doing and when your doing it! At least you know that when you are broke on the side of the road it will most likely be member of your community picking you up.

Cheers!
